Renae’s Cheesy Shells

With the rising price of groceries, I’ve been getting creative in the kitchen to make use of what I have on hand. This recipe was put together on a cold day to warm us up! It’s good with a basket of warm crescent rolls and fresh spinach salad.

1 lb. ground beef, browned and drained

1 c. instant rice, cooked

1 c. spaghetti sauce

1 c. cottage cheese

1 t. garlic powder

1/4 t. salt

1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese, divided

12-oz. pkg. jumbo pasta shells, cooked

Combine all ingredients except shredded cheese and pasta shells in a large bowl. Add 1/2 cup shredded cheese and mix well. Spoon mixture into cooked shells. Arrange shells in a lightly greased 13"x9" baking pan; sprinkle with remaining shredded cheese. Bake, covered, at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Serves 4 to 6.
